Devotional Book
Tracy Crump dispenses hope in her new book, Health, Healing, and Wholeness: Devotions of Hope in the Midst of Illness. Incorporating stories from her nursing and caregiving seasons, her book ministers to those facing a health crisis or walking alongside a friend or loved one who is. Churches are using the book as a resource for hospital ministries, community outreach, and pastoral care.
Professional Accomplishments
Tracy’s numerous articles and devotionals have appeared in national magazines, such as Focus on the Family, ParentLife, Mature Living, Woman’s World, The Upper Room, and Guideposts books. She was a columnist for Southern Writers Magazine for more than four years and contributed articles to three newspapers. Tracy is a C.L.A.S.S. graduate and was named Writer of the Year at the Memphis American Christian Writers Conference. While a member of the National League of American Pen Women, she conducted national writing contests. She served as registrar for the Mid-South Christian Writers Conference for seven years and is owner/moderator of the KCW Mentoring Group.
Anthologies & Teaching
Tracy has been called “a keeper of stories,” and is best known for contributing more than thirty stories to Chicken Soup for the Soul® and other anthologies. She teaches workshops on writing for Chicken Soup, and her online course on the topic is one of Serious Writer’s top sellers. As co-director of Write Life Workshops, Tracy conducts workshops that encourage others to “Write Better, Write Now!” She edits The Write Life, a free e-newsletter with story callouts, that has inspired many writers to move forward with their writing. Her love of teaching also takes her to conferences where she helps writers hone their craft.
As a freelance editor, Tracy has edited a number of books, both nonfiction and fiction. One, Kidnapped by a Client: The Incredible True Story of an Attorney’s Fight for Justice by Sharon R. Muse, received a coveted starred review by Publisher’s Weekly. A number of her clients have experienced success in having stories accepted for Chicken Soup for the Soul® books. In addition to editing for private clients, Tracy proofreads for Farmers’ Almanac.
Home & Family
Married for more than forty-five years, Tracy resides in north Mississippi with her husband, Stan. They have two sons and five grandchildren, and she believes “Grandma” is the most beautiful word in the English language.
